What a welcome change. The temperature has started to dip down a little bit, and the cooler nights give me hope that fall is finally just around the corner. If you haven’t been to MarthaRose Gifts & Interiors in several weeks, you’ll be delighted at the transformation from summer to autumn décor. I am still receiving new items in from my recent trip to market, so look for even more items to make an appearance soon.

Everything will be in place in time for my Grand Opening and Fall Open House on Saturday, September 25 from 10 am until 5 pm. I hope you plan to come, bring a friend, and enjoy a wonderful day. From 10 am until 2 pm, enjoy a trolley ride between the store and my home, both of which will be decked out in fall splendor and overflowing with ideas and items that you will want to take home to transform your own space.

From serving pieces to linens and candles to accessories like pumpkins, gourds and fall florals, there’s an abundance of seasonal trimmings to help you celebrate the season in style. I have décor to adorn your home from fall through Thanksgiving, including a few things for Halloween fun! I’m very excited to have you tour my historic home, known locally as "The Brick”. Built in 1857, it combines Italianate and Greek Revival elements, and is listed on the National Registry. And in the store, I’ll introduce you to a rep from Spartina 449, a line of designer handbags that I’ve just added to the store. If you’re one of the first five to purchase a handbag, you’ll receive a free coin purse.

Delphi is a charming little town, with many architectural and historical gems. One place you’ll want to visit after the Open House is the Opera House Gallery of Contemporary Art, just next door to MarthaRose. My friends at the Delphi Preservation Society will host “High Tea with High Fashion” there on the 25th , from 2-4 pm. You can take in a style show from the Grapevine Boutique while you chat with friends and enjoy high tea with finger sandwiches, biscotti, fruit, and desserts. Seating is limited to 50, so make your reservations right away by contacting Anita Werling at 765-202-3211 or awerling@delphipreservationsociety.org. Tickets are $25 per person.

Between getting ready for my Grand Opening and finalizing details for the event I’m organizing, the Delphi Diamond Dash, these next few weeks are sure to be a whirlwind of activity.
